Lou Barbosa Minick is a native Texan and lifelong public servant with more than thirty years of dedicated service in state government. Growing up as a military dependent, Lou spent her formative years on Army bases in Germany and Hawaii, where she developed a deep appreciation for various cultures and languages. After graduating from Texas Woman’s University, Lou began her journey in public service as the volunteer coordinator for Jim Mattox’s gubernatorial campaign. She continued her commitment to public work by serving for over 32 years with the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

A Lifetime of Service

Lou’s career is marked by her extensive expertise in government operations, contract administration, and legislative affairs. She is known for her strong commitment to fiscal responsibility and responsible management of public resources. Lou remains actively involved in her community and political organizations, holding leadership positions such as Legislative Chair for the Central Texas Republican Women, Vice President of LULAC Chapter 4297, and Precinct Chair in Bell County. Lou and her husband, Cheyenne Minick, make their home in Ding Dong, Texas.

Each morning, she shares a cup of coffee with her mother, strengthening their bond through this simple yet meaningful tradition. Lou’s affectionate nature extends to her sweet puppy, Lola, who accompanies her on these morning visits, making the experience even more joyful.

When Lou married Cheyenne, she welcomed Jackson, Piper, and Tawnie into her life, expanding the family’s circle with warmth and love. This union was embraced wholeheartedly by Lou’s loving family, reflecting the Christian values and compassion that Louanna exemplifies. Together, they form a close-knit and supportive family, united by their faith and the genuine affection they share for one another.
